Definition of Fair Housing
Fair housing refers to the principle that all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, or familial status, should have equal access to housing opportunities. It ensures that people are not discriminated against in the sale, rental, or financing of housing. Fair housing laws, such as the Fair Housing Act in the United States, protect individuals from discriminatory practices in housing and promote inclusive, diverse communities. The goal is to ensure that everyone has the right to live where they choose without facing bias or unequal treatment.
